Expectations, Policies and Laws

DePauw students and employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner supportive of the educational mission of the University, which includes our sexual misconduct and sexual harassment policies.

Sexual misconduct and interpersonal violence - as defined within our University policies and handbooks - are a violation of University policy and, depending upon the conduct involved, may be a violation of state criminal law. The University is committed to establishing and maintaining an environment that values and protects the rights of all members of our community. Furthermore, DePauw University honors our obligations under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex, including issues of sexual harassment and sexual violence, in any education program or activities that receive federal funding.  The goal of Title IX is to ensure equal opportunity and gender equity for all members of the DePauw community.
