Tigers Drop Road Game to Nation's #2 Basketball Team, Maryland

Wils Basketball 011zDecember 3, 1975, College Park, Md. - Maryland, the nation's #2-ranked college basketball team, had no trouble with visiting DePauw University tonight, taking a 99-42 victory from the Tigers.  The Terps took a 55-20 halftime lead and coasted to the finish line.

"We didn't get much out of it," admitted DePauw head coach Elmer McCall after the final buzzer sounded.  "Maryland has an outstanding team.  We didn't play well enough in order to make them play their best."

Steve Sheppard was Maryland's leading scorer with 17 points, while Lawrence Boston chipped in 16.  Jeff Halgren scored a dozen points to pace the Tigers, now 1-2 on the season.

The Terps scored the game's first nine points and put together 10 and 15 consecutive point runs in the first half.
