Pamela M. Propsom
Professor of Psychology
Psychology, positive psychology, science literacy, Happiness movement, New Year's resolutions, general education reform
Pam Propsom is working with a faculty colleague, Jackie Roberts, on a science and mathematics general education project. Through a Faculty Fellowship, they are examining the question of what should students get out of a general education. Last fall, they tested all DePauw freshmen on their science literacy; this fall they are testing all seniors.
During the fall semester, she is teaching a course on The Psychology of Happiness. For about eight years, Propsom ran the Student-Organized Alcohol Research Group (SOAR) project, which worked to determine what students think about drinking and what they actually do.
